Chapter 23: Jenny vs Rouge - Fists of Beauty


The rematch between Venus and Scarlet had come to an end as well. And again, Venus emerged as the victor.
Now the fighters had to take a longer break. Because Scarlet and Paragon were busy getting rid of the spider's web, that Scarlet created in the last fight.
The fighters went to the cafeteria to get something to eat and drink. It looked like it'll take a while.
Paragon also allowed the relatives of the fighters to visit them, until they are ready to continue.

Angie felt a little sad as her mother walked up to her. 'I'm sorry, I lost.' But her mother just smiled.
'Don't worry about it, hun. You've already exceeded my expectations. I am proud of you.'
Angie was really happy. She and her mother gave each other a hug.
Of course, Amy and the other's saw this and were touched. 'It's this lovely?' Rouge said and was touched as well.
Cream nooded. And Amy said: 'She has all the reason to be proud of her daughter. Such strength for such a young girl...'
'I know what you mean.' Cream answered. Amy looked to her a smiled. 'She is young, but already a strong fighter. Just like you, Cream.'
Cream laughed. 'You're right. But she learned much faster than I did.'
Amy thought about it and she was right. Amy and Cream trained for years to get that strong.
Angie started training two or three weeks ago. And despite not being as strong as Amy or Cream yet, she already developed an inner power.
A power that she can summon, amplify and then release it in one strong burst. And that's one heck of an achievement.

A few minutes later, Amy went over to Venus. 'Oh, it's you Amy.' Venus noticed her. 'So, how did you like it?'
Venus smiled and answered the question. 'It was a great fight. Exciting from start to finish.'
'And what do you think about Scarlet?' - 'Well, she is a great fighter and rival. And a tough opponent to boot.'
Amy was a little surprised about her expression. 'Well, it almost looks like you like her.'
Venus then looked a little annoyed. 'Well of course I like her. She is almost like a friend to me.'
Amy was surprised. 'Sorry, I didn't know that. But it doesn't look like Scarlet feels the same way about you, does it?'
Venus looked down and a moment later, she gave Amy a nod. 'I know that. It looks like Scarlet is only interested in beating me up. But I know that Scarlet does think of me as a friends too... deep down inside of her... I can feel it.'
She then received a pat from Amy on her shoulder. 'Don't feel too upset about it. Perhaps you're right and she does have a hidden friendly side.'
Venus looked up to her and smiled. 'Yeah... And even if she doesn't think that way, I still have my other friends.' Amy nooded. 'That's right.'
They lightly punches each other's fists.
'Well, it looks like you're now using another body part in battle.' Amy said.
Venus smiled and knew what she meant. 'Yeah, the head indeed can be useful. The problem is the pain that you have from using it, at first. But once you've gotten used to it, you will no longer feel any pain when you hit your opponents with your head.'
Amy then looked over to Cream and said: 'It looks like Cream too started to use her head in battle.'
But Venus was surprised to hear that. 'Really? I haven't seen her performing any headbutt's so far.'
Amy then explained: 'Well, I've witnessed one of her training sessions.'

<Flashback>
Amy was jogging early in the morning. It was the day before the tournament.
When she passed Cream's school, she suddenly saw Cream and Angie on the schoolyard. They were alone, since there obviously was no schoon at Sunday.
But Amy wondered what they were doing there. She moved closer and decided to watch them for a little bit.
'What? Are you serious?' she heard Angie asking rather shocked. Cream gave her a nod. 'I am.'
Angie surely felt uneasy about something. 'I know about using your fists, feet, elbows and knees in battle. But your head?!?'
Now that surprised Amy to hear. 'Her head?' she asked to herself.
'Hey, it's really useful. Watch me.' Cream said and walked over to one of the lampposts.
She held onto it with her right hand and then performed a headbutt on it. It was a hard hit that left dent.
Angie looked a little worried. 'Ouch. Are you alright, Cream?' Cream turned around to her and looked alright.
Her head only had a little dust from the lamppost, but not any signs of injury. 'Of course, I am.' Cream replied and smiled.
'Didn't it hurt?' Angie asked. 'Well, of course not.' Cream replied. But a few moments later, she added: 'Well... maybe just a little. But no big deal.'
'Oh, Cream...' Angie said and chuckled a little. Cream laughed. 'Don't worry about me. I trained my head a lot in these few days. So I can headbutt anyone without any trouble.'
Both then laughed.
Amy smiled and left. Neither Cream nor Angie noticed her.

'Ah. So that's how it is. She is one heck of a girl, I admit. Amazing, if you consider her young age. How old is she?' Venus asked.
'11' Amy replied. Venus whistled. 'I would've guessed 13, but oh well.' - 'You really think she looks older than she is.' - 'Well, a little.'
Amy smiled and looked at Cream. She then answered: 'Well, I guess you're right. And she is more mature than any other kid at her age.'
Venus nooded. 'She is.'
After a little chat, Amy went back to Cream.

Rouge was looking out of the window in one corner. Jenny came over to her.
'So, you are my next opponent?' Jenny asked and kept smiling. Rouge then looked at her and replied: 'Looks that way.'
She seemed to have a rather neutral mood. But Jenny didn't mind. 'I hope we will have a good fight.' - 'Yeah, I do too.'
And Rouge still was in her neutral mood. Jenny seemed to be a little confused now. But she wanted to talk to her anyways.

But before she could continue, Paragon entered the cafeteria. 'Excuse me. But we can now continue with the tournament.'
That also meant that the relatives of the fighters needed to leave the area immediately.
Of course, Vanilla, Tails and Lolitia were also present. As well as the relatives and friends of the others.
Each fo the them wished their fighters good luck and left shortly after. Now it was time to return to the gateway next to the stage.

Upon arriving in the area, Rouge and Jenny already went in front of the curtain.
A few minutes later, Paragon arrived as well. 'Ah, so you're ready to fight?' Jenny and Rouge both gave him a nod.
He was pleased to see this and went to the main stage to make his usual annoucement.

It only took a few minutes and Jenny and Rouge eventually met each other in the ring.
'Rouge was your name, wasn't it?' Jenny asked. 'Uh, yes.' Rouge replied.
'You know, you look a little familiar...' That confused Rouge. 'What? It almost sounded like she knew Rouge somehow.
But Jenny shook her head shortly after. 'Nevermind. Let's just have a great time.' Rouge was still confused, but smiled a little while later.
'Okay then. Do you worst.' Rouge then got into her fighting stance. Jenny too, a bit later.
Paragon then no longer hesitated to begin the battle with his usual words. 'FIGHT!'
...


Rouge made the first move and attacked with a small series of kicks. Jenny blocked them and countered with a straight punch.
It hit Rouge in the face. Jenny followed with several punches. But Rouge blocked those other punches.
And then Rouge hit Jenny with a fast uppercut. While she was lifted into mid-air, she performed a backflip in the air and landed on her feet.
As soon as she landed, she charged at her opponent. Rouge quickly performed a kick, but Jenny avoided it by ducking and hit Rouge with two punches and one kick into the breasts.
It knocked Rouge down. But she got up quickly by performed the usual move. (How many times did I say this already?)
Jenny followed with a series of kicks. Rouge blocked them and after that she jumped on Jenny, held her head with her legs and then slammed her into the ground.
Rouge ended up being on top of Jenny and performed a backflip to get back on her feet. Now it was Jenny's turn to 'kick-up' back on her feet.
Both Jenny and Rouge surely enjoyed this fight. So the fight progressed. Amy and Cream and the others were impressed and liked how the fight went so far.

Some time passed and fight got more intense.
Jenny hit Rouge with a strong punch. And after that she attacked with another punch. But that punch got blocked by Rouge and the bat hit Jenny with a strong kick.
While Jenny managed to stay on her feet, Rouge then hit her with a few punches. But before she could continue, Jenny grabbed her, rolled backwards with Rouge in her grasp and then threw her backwards.
Jenny then performed one more roll to get back on her feet. Rouge also performed a few flips to get back on her feet.
However, Rouge was close to the edge of the ring. Jenny then attacked with a series of punches and kicks, which Rouge blocked.
And eventually, she jumped and performed a handstand and Jenny's shoulders. After that, she landed on her feet behind Jenny and dragged her along with her.
Jenny's stomach ended up being slammed into Rouge's knee. Rouge then lifted her up back into standing position and hit her with two fast and one strong punch.
Staggering backwards a bit, Jenny seemed to be open for more. Which is why Rouge attacked her with a barrage of kicks.
But Jenny recovered quicker than Rouge imagined and blocked those kicks and eventually hit Rouge with a fast punch and followed with a special spinning kick, which knocked Rouge down again.
Rouge performed a roll backwards to get back on her feet. Jenny then charged at Rouge again. But Rouge her special Spin Kick Dive, hit Jenny's legs and made her trip.
Jenny had to 'kick up' on her feet again.
The fight progressed and both sides kept up their great performance.

'Wow. Rouge surely fights much better. I never knew...' Tails admitted. Vanilla gave him a nod. 'I admit I don't know her that much. But I agree. She is really strong.'
Yasu heard what they were saying. 'Are you talking about that cute bat-girl?' he asked. 'Yes, we do. What of it?' Tails replied and don't seem to be too fond of Yasu.
'Oh nothing, it's nothing. I was just wondering.' Yasu told them and looked a little embarrassed. Vanilla looked at him... puzzled.
But Tails still seemed to be a little annoyed. 'What are you planning to do? Going to ask them for a date, or what? Well sorry, Rouge is taken.'
Yasu looked at him surprised. 'Whoa, chill down.' Tails didn't say anything, but still was annoyed. Yasu then looked away.
But he told them: 'But honestly, I wouldn't mind to ask them out...' Vanilla felt embarrassed about that reply.
'Oh, of all the idiotic...' Tails said quietly, but he stopped. Now Vanilla asked: 'Don't you think you're a little too hard on him?'
Tails shook his head. 'Sorry, but guys such as this one make me sick.' Vanilla replied: 'Well, he is somewhat... strange. But try not to be too harsh on him.'
Tails let out a sigh. 'Okay...' Vanilla was pleased to hear that. And then she turned her attention back at the fight.
But Tails stared at Yasu for some time. '(No wonder Rouge felt something strange about him. He is obviously hiding something behind his pervy attitude. I wonder what it is...)' he thought.

The fight progressed and already lasted for a long time. But now the fight went into its final phase.
Jenny punched Rouge a few times. But she managed to block the punches. Jenny then went for an uppercut.
But Rouge hit her head with her elbow, before she managed to pull it off. Rouge then successfully hit Jenny with a series of punches and a somersault-kick.
Jenny landed on her hands, lifted herself back into mid-air and then landed on her feet. Rouge then charged at her again. But Jenny held her back with a few kicks.
After a few some more attacks from both sides, Rouge then went for her great attack.
She performed the Spin Kick Dive again, which hit Jenny. Rouge then used her hands to lift herself up and perform a rising kick, which sent Jenny flying into the air.
After landing on her feet, Rouge instantly jumped after her, hit her stomach with her knee, grabbed her afterwards and plummets down with Jenny in her grasp, slamming her into the ground.
And that was really painful for Jenny. And she was down for the count. She didn't seem to get up.
Rouge seemed to be a little disappointed though. 'Hey, I was expecting a little more from you. Get up already!'
Jenny kept lying on the ground for a while, but she eventually got up. Rouge was happy to see that. 'Now that's what I am talking about.'
A smile could be seen on Jenny's face. Both girls were ready for more.
They've continued fighting each other for a little longer. But then Jenny used her Super Move.
After hitting Rouge into the face, her fists started glowing in a blue light. She then attacked with a series of punches, kicks and elbow-strikes.
And then she hit Rouge's stomach hard, followed with a very quick series of punches, a few kicks and then a devastating uppercut, which sent Rouge flying high into the air.
Jenny was exhausted and was breathing heavily. After a short while, Rouge hit the ground hard.
But she slowly got up. Despite being nearly pumped out, Jenny got back into her fighting stance. But Rouge didn't...
Which surprised Jenny. Rouge smiled... 'Impressive... I am defeated.'
That surprised Jenny to hear and shortly after Rouge let herself fall onto the ground and lied there on her stomach.

'Well, it looks like Rouge admitted defeat. So the winner of this match is JENNYLYN!!!' Paragon shouted into his microphone.
The crowd was as amazed as ever and they cheered for both combatants. Jenny walked over to Rouge, who was still lying on the ground.
'You were great, Rouge. It was fun fighting you.' Jenny said to her and smiled. Rouge looked up to her and gave her a thumbs up. 'Same here.' she said.
Jenny then lifted her up and carried her out of the ring and back into the fighter area.

'Hey, Rouge. Are you alright?' Cream asked as Jenny arrived with Rouge carrying along with her.
Rouge looked at her and smiled. 'Don't worry about me. I'll be fine.' Jenny smiled and said: 'Yeah. She is a tough one.'
'that was a great fight, sister.' Jasmine said as she walked up to her sister. Jenny thanked her.
And the others congratulated Jenny as well. But Rouge too. Nobody ignored her great fighting skills.

'Hey, Jen. Take me to that sunny corner over there. I need some rest.' Rouge pointed at a small corner of the area, behind some benches.
'Alright.' Jenny took her over there and slowly put her down. Rouge was then sitting on the ground. 'Shall I stay here with you?' Jenny asked.
Rouge shook her head. 'No, I am fine. I want to rest a little, alone.' Jenny understood. 'Alright then. See you.' She then walked away.
Shortly after, Rouge let herself fall again. She now lied there again, the same she lied in the ring earlier.
Her face was facing the ground and she lied, yet again, on her stomach. However, she felt more relaxed that way.
But a short moment later, someone talked to her. 'Hey, Rouge. Are you sleeping?' Rouge looked up and saw Amy. 'Oh, it's you.'
'I thought you wanted to rest.' - 'I do.' Amy felt a little puzzled. 'Then why are you lying there, like someone knocked you out?'
Rouge chuckled a bit and replied: 'Because it feels good. At least I can relax better that way, for now.' Amy laughed. 'We're all pretty strange, huh?'
'I guess you're right.' Rouge replied and laughed as well. After a short pause after the laughter, Amy got to the point.
'But it does surprise me that you fell so easily. As far as I know, you can take a little more than that.' Amy said honestly.
Rouge looked confused. 'What do you mean?' But Amy could see through that and Rouge knew exactly what Amy wanted to say. 'You let her win, didn't you?'
While first looking surprised, Rouge soon regained her smile. 'It's no use trying to fool you.' - 'So you did let her win.'
Rouge laid her head back onto the ground, with her left cheek lying on the ground. Then she nooded.
It confused Amy, so she asked: 'But why? I never thought you would do that, ever.'
But Rouge gave her an honest answer. 'Because I realized that she is stronger than me right now. And even if I would've continued the fight, a little while later she would've defeated me for sure. It doesn't make any difference.'
'Losing by ring out or knock out or losing by giving up... Now there is a lot of difference between it.' Rouge knew what Amy meant. 'Yeah, I guess you're right. But I don't mind. I've had all the great time I needed.'
Amy smiled and understood. 'Are you coming back?' Amy asked. But Rouge replied: 'No. Just give me a few more minutes.'
'Alright then. Do you want to be alone?' Rouge gave her a nod and replied: 'Yes, please. I can relax best when I am alone.'
Amy understood what she meant. 'Okay. See you later then.' She then walked away, leaving Rouge alone for a bit like she requested.

Now even the intense fight between Jenny and Rouge was over. And Jenny was victorious.
The next fight was to be a fight between Cream and Knuckles. A fight between friends.
